Take church attendance and see who’s drifting

Attendance in PostSermon isn’t just a number — it’s stored per member, so afterwards you can see exactly who missed and who’s drifting, and reach out. Here’s the whole flow, from marking to the follow-up.

Updated July 2026

Step by step

  1. 1

    Mark members present

Tap members present from the roster — it’s safe from many phones at once, and you can search or filter by cell. Add a walk-in on the spot and they become a member, marked present.

  2. 2

    Delegate to cell leaders

Mint a no-login link for each cell. Every leader opens their link on their own phone and marks only their own people — all at the same time — so a big congregation is counted in minutes.

  3. 3

    Capture visitors

Show a visitor check-in QR under the service; a walk-in who scans it registers themselves and is marked present in a single scan.

  4. 4

    Reconcile against a head count

Enter the physical head count. If more heads were counted than marked, accept the gap as “present but unidentified” so the total is honest.

  5. 5

See who to reach out to

The insights show who missed this service, who’s drifting (missed several recent Sundays) and who’s most faithful. Message any of those groups in a tap — “everyone who missed the last three Sundays” becomes one caring follow-up.

Questions

What does attendance cost?

Taking attendance, cell-leader links, the visitor QR and the insights are all free. You only spend credits if you message one of the cohorts, using the normal per-recipient send billing.

Can several people mark attendance at once?

Yes — marking is idempotent, so every cell leader can mark their own cell on their own phone at the same time with no clashes.
